The Use of Face Coverings (Information from the ScotGov website) In enclosed spaces, where physical distancing is more difficult and where there is a risk of close contact with multiple people who are not members of your household, you should wear a face covering. Examples include: shops or businesses; visits to a care home for the elderly; visits to adult hospitals as an outpatient; and GP surgeries or pharmacies where it is not always possible to maintain a 2 metre distance from other people. Wearing a face covering will, by law, be compulsory (with certain exceptions) from 10 July in shops. People must, by law, wear a face covering on public transport and public transport premises such as train stations and airports. Specific exemptions provide that certain categories of people are not required to wear a face covering. (see the Scottish Government website for full details) Rules for wearing face-coverings If you wear a face-covering you must follow some simple rules to ensure you keep yourself and others safe. If used incorrectly you could increase the risk of transmission. •Wash your hands, or use hand sanitiser before putting on or taking off your face-covering and DO NOT touch your face •Make sure both mouth and nose are covered and when wearing it outside avoid touching the mask then touching your face - if there is virus on the outside of the mask you could transmit it onto your skin •After each use you must wash the face-covering at 60degrees or dispose of it safely.
